50-50 Parenting

This is a form of shared custody where the parents share custody evenly, and spend equal time with their children. Depending upon the age and maturity of the children, and the available time schedules of the parents, this can be the easiest schedule to work with. Parents can divide up the time the child spends with each of them, and nearly any mix of days can be used. Each parent can have the child for a week, a couple days or more, and so can the other parent. Older children and those who have busier schedules may find that spending longer periods of time at one parent’s and then roating that time to the other parent, can make it easier on both the children and the parents. The terms 50 50 parenting and 50 50 custody schedule are often used interchangeably. This is a form of parallel parenting that benefits the child.
